Mitchell Yacht Services provides an experienced and unbiased opinion as to the yacht or selection of yachts that the potential purchaser is considering and whether these will meet their requirements. I provide a no nonsense reporting as to the capabilities of the vessel, the existing crew, the costs and the state of the vessel and whether the vessel is capable of meeting the clients desired cruising itinerary.

If the client has not yet chosen a yacht I can do a full market review of all the yachts that are for sale that meet the criteria you have given me, including size, cruising capability, price and style. This is very useful for clients who are very busy and do not have the time to spend weeks or sometimes months searching the market for their dream yacht. I present the best examples of these to the client and discuss the features of each yacht to create a short list. I visit each of these short listed yachts and present the client with a report of each. From this visit I work with the client to create a small list of vessels for the client to visit. I organise the viewings with the sellers broker and visit the yachts with the client. If this results in a candidate yacht I will negotiate the price with the sellers broker, organise the pre-purchase survey, provide detailed analysis of the survey to the purchaser and the implications of this to the price of the vessel and attend the completion of the sale as the owners representative. If the client has not seen the yacht of his dreams I continue my search after reviewing the clients original requirements list.

We have associations with engineers and experienced chief stewardesses to help with the assessment of the vessels and quality marine surveyors to provide the pre-purchase survey. I provide a clear analysis of the survey advising the purchaser as to the likely costs involved in the findings of the survey. We research the market and obtain quotations for the best possible solutions for the work from both suppliers of specific items and from shipyards and present these to the new owner with a timeframe to complete the work.

We provide project management for both new build yachts and for refits either as the owners representative working with the existing crew or as the full time project manager.

As the owners representative I ensure that the work is done to the highest standard, on time and within budget. From time to time during a refit an unexpected issue will be uncovered. I review this to see if it is a justifiable deviation of the contract and ensure that it is priced within an acceptable cost range.

For new build projects I act as either the owners representative visiting the shipyard at pre-agreed intervals to overview the progress of the work or act in greater detail as the owners project manager determining that each phase of the project is delivered to the requirements of the new owner. With this I work closely with the shipyard, class surveyors, the naval architect and the owner to ensure a successful project completed in a timely manner within a budget that everyone agrees on.

We advise the owner of the implications of registration of the yacht in various flag states, and in the case of new builds the implications of complying with various classification society rules.

We can source high quality crew and provide employment contracts through our associated companies.

We provide audits of the financial running of the vessel and can build budgets for the new owner so they know what to expect in the running of the vessel.

All these services are offered at a flat fee per service per month.
